A long weekend in Amsterdam
Amsterdam, or the city with two faces, is revealed when the night comes. The calm and peaceful side gives way to intense activity in one of the most famous districts of the capital: the Red Quarter.
An atypical city, built on stilts where we like to stroll along the canals and even sail on them for our greatest pleasure. It is a city of a human scale where almost everything can be done by walking. The opportunity to discover here and there sculptures, paintings and other architectural details at the bend of a small deserted street.
Amsterdam is also the city of bicycles. Don’t hide from them, they are omnipresent and apparently in a hurry. Here cyclists are kings, before trams, cars and finally pedestrians. But to enjoy cycling, we need to get away from the city and there the instinct of freedom takes all its meaning, in the middle of large expanses of greenery, mills still in activity. All this folklore is to be discovered just below.
